Built on Family, Tradition, and Passion
Hugh Storey was born in Northumberland in 1931, with an entrepreneurial spirit that would shape his remarkable journey. After completing his national service, he and his family ventured to Kenya in the 1950s, where Hugh began building a successful career in sales. Over the years, he worked with various companies, honing his skills and leaving a lasting impression.
By the mid-1960s, Hugh and his family returned to England and settled in Newark. It was here that he joined a local company specialising in ultrasonic tanks and cleaning fluids. Around this time, he met Patricia, the love of his life, and they married in 1969. Five years later, they welcomed their daughter Charlotte into the world.
In 1990, after much thought and determination, Hugh took the leap and founded H & P Storey Associates. That same year, Charlotte began her own career as a Bakery Manager at a local supermarket. However, in 2001, following her father’s cancer diagnosis, she left her role to work alongside him and support the business during a challenging time.
Today, Charlotte still proudly operates H & P Storey Associates from Newark, where she lives with her family including one teenager who keeps her on her toes! The business continues to thrive, supplying horological cleaning fluids to clockmakers, watchmakers, and jewellers across the country.
